Catholic Formation & Engagement

Our focus is Religious Education of students, their relationship with God and their personal formation.

St. Paul's Woodridge was established 55 years ago in cooperation between Brisbane Catholic Education and the Sisters' of St. Joseph, (an order of nuns founded by St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop), who were our founding principals and teachers.  They worked very closely with St. Paul's Parish, that was built four years later.  The strong connection between school and parish has continued today.

As a Catholic Christian community, we proudly continue the mission and ministry of the Sisters', to educate all to live the Good News of Jesus Christ, as informed learners who are empowered to shape and enrich our world.  A particular focus on justice for the poor and marginalised in our society and world and valued within our community.

The Sisters' chose the patron saint, St. Paul to be our namesake.  St. Paul was a missionary to the nations.  Our St. Paul's community greatly values the diversity of our students and their families, and we continue to share the love of Jesus to all students in our care, their families and our wider community, just as St. Paul modelled for us.

'Grow Strong in The Faith, The Spirit, and The Word' is our school motto. Our Catholic Christian Formation and Engagement is practically lived out every day through:

  • religious education lessons
  • class prayer as well as line up and assembly prayer times
  • Prep – Year 6 class masses
  • liturgical celebrations
  • St. Paul's and St. Mary of the Cross MacKillop feast days
  • Other church feast days (Lent, Easter, Advent, Christmas etc.)
  • Sacramental preparation
  • Fundraisers for Project Compassion, Catholic Mission, St. Vincent De Paul and the Daniel Morcombe Foundation

St Paul's shares and promotes the Vision for Religious Education articulated by Brisbane Catholic Education and the wider church via the following framework:

At St Paul's School, Woodridge we utilise this framework in a practical and engaging way within the teaching/learning of our classrooms, as well as through our welcoming, supportive school culture that receives families from multi-faith traditions.
