Ready for Prep 2019!
Prep is the first year of school in Queensland schools and provides the foundation for your child’s education. It is now compulsory for Queensland children to undertake Prep prior to Year 1. Prep is a fulltime program in primary schools. Children attend Monday-Friday, for the full school day.
Children must be 5 by 30 June in the year they enrol. If your child or a child you know is born between 1 July 2013 and 30 June 2014, they are eligible for Prep.
We have been very busy interviewing families for our 2019 Prep classes. Our Prep Transition program has already begun and is a great way for children to meet the friends who will accompany them on their learning journey and for parents to meet each other also. Prep Transition occurs on Wednesday mornings and will continue next term.
Our new Prep students will be invited to participate in our Prep Orientation morning next term. They will have time in the Prep rooms learning about becoming a new Prep student! This is an important part of Getting Ready for Prep. Details will be coming home after the holidays!
Do you know anyone who might be looking to get their child into Prep next year? If your child is born between 1st July 2013 and 30th June 2014, your child will be starting Prep next year. Our St Paul’s School staff are keen to hear from you.
For more information about enrolling at St Paul's please refer to the Enrolments section of this website.
The table below indicates the Prep Eligibility ages, for you to determine when your child may be enrolled in Prep or Year 1. Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the school office on 07 3208 2868.
